Trimming & Finishing
Flip the piece and carve its foot — the signature of a finished pot.
Once leather-hard, re-center on the wheel upside down.
Step 1 — Secure with three coils of soft clay or a chuck.
Step 2 — Use a loop tool to carve a foot ring — about 1/3 the base diameter.
Step 3 — Soften edges with a rib.
Step 4 — Sign the bottom. Every pot is a letter.
